Linked Module Course
The Advanced Mountain Medical Rescue Course is for medical professionals who practice in the advanced life support setting and wish to gain course completion cards as well as specialty training specific to mountain rescue situations. The course completion cards provided are often required to maintain employment in the medical field. Cards will be issued after successful completion of the module and within the time requirements of the issuing organizations.
Successful completion of the Advanced Mountain Medical Rescue Course requires at least 6 separate modules. Five are required and one is optional. (Additional modules are highly encouraged in preparation for the final examination scenarios)
Each module can be taken separately from each other or during a linked module course which generally requires a week of course work. In order to gain a certificate of completion for Advanced Mountain Medical Rescue the student must provide a copy of a valid Medical Credential (ie. EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, MD, DO, CRNA etc) and complete the required modules with Rescue Climber Mountain Guides. In addition to the credential the student is required to list experiences suggesting an ability to safely participate in a mountainous training environment. Examples of these experiences include but are not limited to prior mountain rescue experience, wilderness travel such as backpacking, climbing or mountain biking, wilderness medicine courses, military service and working in austere environments.
